On last night’s episode of The Ezra Levant Show, Will Chamberlain discussed New York City’s upcoming mayoral election, highlighting the rise of far-left socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani, who is currently leading Independent Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa in polls.
Ezra Levant criticized Mamdani’s ideology, accusing him of using Islam as a tool to advance his political goals. “I don’t think Zohran Mamdani is a deeply observant Muslim on his own, but I think he sees Islam as a battering ram against America,” Levant said. He argued that Mamdani’s platform reflects a broader leftist agenda, stating, “He’ll basically take a coalition of everyone who’s against America, and it just happens that he’s Muslim.”
Chamberlain, Senior Counsel for The Article III Project, echoed these claims, describing Mamdani as a “third-world leftist” whose politics are driven by radicalism rather than religious conviction. He pointed to recent statements by Mamdani, including a remark linking the NYPD’s actions to the IDF, which he framed as emblematic of global leftist anti-authority rhetoric.
A Manhattan Institute survey shows Mamdani leading with 48% support among likely voters, followed by Cuomo at 28% and Sliwa at 19%. New Yorkers will vote on November 4, 2025, to determine the city’s next mayor.
