Belgian Politician Warns Western Nations Must Halt Muslim Immigration to Prevent Antisemitism Surge

Ezra Levant spoke with Belgian Member of Parliament Sam van Rooy during the second International Conference on Combating Antisemitism in Jerusalem on Monday.

Van Rooy stated that unrestrained immigration would lead Belgium toward becoming a Muslim-majority nation, saying: “Definitely. If we don’t change the policies fundamentally, mass immigration—if we don’t stop it—then we will become a Muslim country.”

He further warned: “We will become an Islamized country where there is no place for minorities like Christians or atheists or Jews or whatever—we will become the Middle East. I’ve been warning about this for decades.”

When asked why he attended the antisemitism conference, van Rooy described escalating threats across Europe since October 7th: “It’s a huge problem… it has been growing enormously in all of Europe, in the West, and definitely also in Belgium.” He added that as a city councillor in Antwerp, he observes daily antisemitic incidents involving Jewish schoolchildren being bullied and terrorized by young Muslims.

Van Rooy concluded his remarks by asserting that Western countries must halt mass immigration from Muslim nations to prevent further rises in antisemitism and hate against minorities.
